Ambre’ Pownall, MSN, APRN, PPCNC-BC, is the pediatric nurse practitioner for the division of neurosurgery at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

In 2004, Ambre’ completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Arkansas where she was President of the Student Nurses Association and was the Legislative Chair for the Arkansas Student Nurses Association.

She worked as an RN in the pediatric intensive care unit at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center while obtaining her Master’s Degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Northern Kentucky University in 2007. While there, she was inducted in to the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Ambre’ joined the Neurosurgery team in 2010 and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the Arkansas Nurses Association and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.  She is an active member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses where she was appointed to the Scopes and Standards Task Force, is a founding member of the Advocacy Committee and is co-author of the clinical practice guidelines for the pediatric brain tumor patient. She has published articles in several medical journals. She has been nominated several times for the APRN of the Year Award at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.  In 2016 Ambre’ received the 40 Nurse Leaders Under 40 Award by the Arkansas Action Coalition and she was named AY Magazine’s Readers Choice Best Healthcare Professionals in Arkansas.
