COM Accolades: Glioma Biomakers 

July 1, 2020| Congratulations to Dr. Analiz Rodriguez, Director of Neurosurgical Oncology in the Department of Neurosurgery, Dr. Thidathip Wongsurawat, Instructor in Biomedical Informatics, and colleagues on the publication of their collaborative study of a new sequencing technique to identify biomarkers in patient glioma samples. Dr. Wongsurawat was the first author and Dr. Rodriguez was the senior author on the paper published in Acta Neuropathologica Communications. Other authors included Dr. Piroon JenjaroenpunDr. Intawat Nookaew and Dr. David Ussery in Biomedical Informatics; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology graduate student Duah AlkamAnnick De Loose and Dr. J.D. Arkansas Business 40 Under 40 Class of 2019: Dr. Analiz Rodriguez

June 6, 2019|  Congratulations to Dr. Analiz Rodriguez of the Department of Neurosurgery, who was named to the Arkansas Business 40 Under 40. Dr. Rodriguez said she wants to give Arkansans “the opportunity to get the best care possible for their brain tumor, so they don’t have to leave the state. UAMS Cancer Researchers Receive NIH Grant to Develop New Cancer Therapies

November 13, 2018|  The National Institutes of Health (NIH) awarded the three-year grant to Karen Abbott, Ph.D., assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine’s Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Analiz Rodriguez, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine’s Department of Neurosurgery. Abbott is principal investigator for the grant, and Rodriguez is co-investigator. See full story.

Dr. Analiz Rodriguez Awarded 2018 Seeds of Science Grant

January 29, 2018|  The newly awarded grant will assist scientists at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute in their search for new and innovative cancer treatments. The grants of $10,000 each were presented to young investigators by the Envoys, a volunteer advocacy group of the Cancer Institute Foundation, during their “Doctor is In” reception and research poster showcase Jan. 25.
